Laurel Police Department
is investigating a sexual assault of a 16 year old female that occurred
on May 26, 2009 at 7:50 A.M. The student was walking to school on the
school path near Harrison Drive and Whiteway when she was touched by a
man in a sexual manner. The victim had turned around when the suspect
grabbed her by the neck and told her to keep quiet. The suspect
attempted to push the victim to the ground when she began screaming and
struggling with the suspect. The victim was able to break free from the
suspect and run to Laurel High School where she contacted the police.
The suspect fled from the school path and entered a silver or gray mid
size 4 door car and fled the area.

The suspect is
described as a black male, mid 30’s, 5’10”, wearing a light blue shirt
and dark pants similar to a work utility uniform. The victim also
described the suspect has having big eye’s and nose.
