     A Special Referendum Election is
scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2009, to decide upon the
recommendations from the Citizens Election Ad Hoc Committee. The
election will be held at the Phelps Senior Citizens Center, 701
Montgomery Street, Laurel. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00
p.m.

     The City of Laurel Board of Election
Supervisors will be distributing a Special Referendum Election
Newsletter on Monday, August 3, 2009. To receive an electronic copy of
the newsletter please register your email address on the City’s website
or call the Office of the Clerk to the Board of Election Supervisors at
301-725-5300. If you don’t have an email address, you can register your
mailing address.

     Voter Notification Cards will be mailed to every registered voter
in the City of Laurel on Monday, August 17, 2009, reminding voters
about the Special Referendum Election.
