Mayor Craig A. Moe and Chief Dave
Crawford want you to know that the Laurel Police Department will
conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, August 14, 2009. The purpose
of the checkpoint is to raise the level of public awareness and inform
citizens about the efforts that are being used to identify and
apprehend impaired drivers.

     Mayor Craig A. Moe
and Laurel Police Department Police Chief Dave Crawford agree the way
to reduce injuries and deaths is to remove drunk and impaired drivers
from our streets.

The sobriety checkpoint will be operational between the hours of
10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. in the 100 block of Second Street.
