The Laurel Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint
on Friday September 4, 2009. The purpose of the checkpoint is to raise
the level of public awareness and inform citizens about the efforts
that are being used to identify and apprehend impaired drivers.

City of Laurel Mayor Craig A. Moe and Laurel Police Department
Police Chief Dave Crawford agree the way to reduce injuries and deaths
is to remove drunk and impaired drivers from our streets.

The sobriety checkpoint will be operational between the hours of 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. in the 100 block of Second Street.
