Mayor Craig A. Moe is pleased to
announce that the City will be holding its second electronics recycling
and paper shredding event on Saturday, October 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to
12:00 p.m. at the Municipal Center. This event will be for City
residents only. Participants will be required to show proof of City
residency.
The Department of Public Works will
be on-hand to assist City residents to recycle their unwanted
electronics. Recyclable items include: computer monitors and CPUs,
CD/DVD/VCR players, radios, printers, keyboards, televisions, etc. The
electronics recycling event is funded by a grant received from the
Maryland Department of the Environment and the recycler will be E-End.
This event will be free to residents for their electronics recycling.
PNC Bank is again sponsoring the paper shredding event. Office
Shredding, a document destruction company, will also be available to
City residents at the Municipal Center. Residents are encouraged to
bring any and all sensitive material to the event and shred it at no
cost. Only paper products can be accepted for shredding, but the City
will have their recycling truck on-hand for cardboard boxes and other
recyclable containers.
The Department of Public Works will also be available to accept battery and CFL recycling from residents.
