Mayor Craig A. Moe has invited Laurel's residents to show their civic pride and join us as the City of Laurel celebrates "Municipal Government Works" Month for November 2009.

To kick off the month long event, the Municipal Government Works flag will be flown over the Municipal Center starting November 2. Mayor Moe will present a proclamation during the Mayor and City Council Meeting on Monday, November 9, 2009. Also, if you like to walk around Laurel, then why not participate in “Discover Laurel’s Treasures”. Stop by the Laurel Museum or the Laurel Municipal Center during the month of November and pick up an Historic Laurel walking map along with 10 questions you need to answer from sites along the walking tour. Prizes will be handed out to the person/persons with the most correct answers.

Finally, Mayor Moe would like the residents of Laurel to show their support to our students from Laurel High School and St. Vincent Pallotti High School as they face off in a City Trivia Game Show on Wednesday, November 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers at the Laurel Municipal Center located at 8103 Sandy Spring Road.

Mayor Craig A. Moe is very proud of the City of Laurel and wants to share its rich heritage with all its residents. For more information, please call 301-725-5300 ext. 120 for more information.
