     Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced that City Offices will be closed Monday, January 18, 2010 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

     Mayor Craig A. Moe and City Council President Gayle Snyder have announced that the City of Laurel Annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr., will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010, in the Council Chambers at the Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, Maryland.  Doors to the Municipal Center will open at 8:00 a.m.   Coffee and donuts will be available.  The ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the viewing of Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech and will conclude with the placement of a wreath honoring Dr. King’s memory at the Peace Pole in front of the Municipal Center.

    Monday’s refuse and recycling will be collected on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 and Tuesday’s refuse and recycling will be collected on Wednesday, January 20, 2010.  There is no change in commercial recycling collection this week. 

     There will be no Residential Special Pickup or Yard Debris collection this week. Our next scheduled Residential Special Pickup and Yard Debris collection will be on Wednesday, January 27, 2010.
