The Laurel Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, August 20, 2010. The purpose of the checkpoint is to raise the level of public awareness and inform citizens about the efforts that are being used to identify and apprehend impaired drivers.
City of Laurel Mayor Craig A. Moe and Laurel Police Department Police Chief Dave Crawford agree the way to reduce motor vehicle injuries and deaths is to remove drunk and impaired drivers from our streets.
The sobriety checkpoint will be operational between the hours of 10:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. in the 100 block of Second Street.
