Mayor Craig A. Moe is pleased to announce for the second year Laurel Police Officers will be raising money for Special Olympics. Last years event tested the officers will as tropical rains fell but the officers remained on the roof top despite the heavy rain for 31 hours. Mayor Moe hopes this year the weather will be non eventful.

 

    The 2nd annual Laurel Police Cops on Rooftop in which several police officers from the Laurel Police Department will be in uniform on the roof of the Dunkin Donuts on 14903 Baltimore Ave. in Laurel, MD.  The officers will be eating, sleeping, and dancing the weekend away for 31 consecutive hours from 6am on September 25th until 1pm on the 26th. As a result of Laurel Police Officers event last year six more jurisdictions will be holding the event which is now coordinated throughout the State of Maryland with six Dunkin Donuts and Law Enforcement Agencies participating.   The goal is to raise as much money as we can in those 31hrs, through donations and various raffles that will be taking place throughout the day.  There will be a DJ, a moon bounce and various other forms of entertainment throughout the event.  Also Dunkin Donuts will be giving out coupons for donuts and coffee to people making donations to Special Olympics.
