Mayor Craig A. Moe is pleased to announce that the City of Laurel has been awarded funding from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Community Parks and Playground program. The $80,000 award will be used to replace old playground equipment at Snowden Community Park. The Community Parks and Playground program has helped fund new playgrounds at Riverfront Park, Leo E. Wilson Community Park, Emancipation Community Park, Alice B. McCullough Field, Discovery Park and Roland B. Sweitzer Community Park. Mayor Moe states, “I am happy that this program is available through the State to assist us in keeping our playgrounds up to date for our citizens and their families.” The new playground should be in place by early spring 2011.
