Mayor Craig A. Moe and Marty Flemion, Director of Emergency Services, would like the public to be aware of a class being offered at the University of Maryland.

Skywarn is a 3-hour class that includes a basic overview of severe weather and its associated threats. In addition, you will learn the basics of how Skywarn and the National Weather Service operate and how you can report severe weather to NWS!

Skywarn Basics I is being offered on February 19th from 11:00am – 3:00pm at 1202 Martin Hall (Engineering), University of Maryland in College Park. This class is free and if you are interested, please register at www.atmos.umd.edu/~gcm/wiki/skywarn_registration_basics1feb2011/.
