Mayor Craig A. Moe is pleased to announce the City of Laurel’s top Volunteer for 2010, with a total of 234 hours donated to assist the City of Laurel’s staff in making our City a better place to live, work and play, is Janet Parker.
 
Janet Parker volunteers at the Phelps Senior Center and assists City staff with many duties. Ms. Parker is described as a very valuable asset as she calls the seniors to check on their welfare. She is also exceptionally polite and courteous to all. Ms. Parker takes the time to get to know the seniors individually and I am grateful to her for so generously giving of her time help others.
 
As Mayor, I know the critical importance of our volunteers and the time and effort they commit to our citizens is appreciated. The various volunteer groups that help serve the citizens of Laurel in many capacities totaled 5,430 in the calendar year ending 12/31/10. Each one of our volunteers contributes in some way to the betterment of all of our lives and the City’s Staff appreciates their assistance.
