Mayor Craig A. Moe and Emergency Services Director, Martin Flemion, are pleased to let the residents know that the City of Laurel is currently clear of the danger.  The high wind warning has been lifted and thanks to the hard work of the area firefighters, first responders and volunteers, the brush fires have been contained. Firefighters and volunteers will be working through the night to address small fires and hot spots and they are still working on the mulch piles where the fire apparently originated. All roads including I-95 are back open and traffic is flowing at a normal pace. The City of Laurel will close its Emergency Operations Center at 9:00pm. Unless otherwise needed, there will be no further reporting from the City on this event.  The City of Laurel appreciates your understanding and patience.
