Laurel Police Chief Richard McLaughlin is pleased to announce the closure of a lengthy drug investigation completed by members of the Laurel Police Department.

On February 17, 2011, the Laurel Police Department’s Emergency Response Team, Special Crimes Unit, and the Criminal Investigations Division executed a Court-ordered Search and Seizure Warrant in the 100 block of Ninth Street. The warrant was executed without injuries to the Laurel Police Department officers or members of the general public.

Recovered from the residence was approximately a quarter pound of Marihuana and a large quantity of drug paraphernalia. 

As a result of the investigation and the search warrant the following residents were arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Joshua Thomas Walker, 21 years of age, Laurel, Maryland

Joseph Frankfort Locke 3rd, 18 years of age, Laurel, Maryland

Both Chief McLaughlin and Mayor Craig A. Moe are very proud of the work that the men and women of the Laurel Police Department are doing to protect the Laurel community and thank the public for getting involved to help solve crimes in the community.
