Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced the delivery of 65-gallon recycling containers.  As a result of a pilot program introducing the 65-gallon carts to the Patuxent Greens community in June of 2010, the Patuxent Greens neighborhood increased their recycling by 150% and has sustained that increase.  Based on the success of the program, and to make recycling more manageable for residents, the City has purchased 207 65-gallon carts.  The carts will be available to residents on a first come first serve basis.

Mayor Moe would like to remind residents that the City’s current recycling program encompasses single-family homes as well as multi-family homes and apartments – all are required to recycle.  Any questions regarding the current program, or to request a 65 gallon recycling cart, may be directed to the Department of Public Works by calling 301-725-0088.
