Laurel Police Chief Richard McLaughlin is asking the public for information on an arson incident that occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday, May 28, 2011.
 
The Laurel Police Department, working in conjunction with the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Departments, Office of the Fire Marshal, is conducting an investigation on the arson case involving the destruction of a vehicle of a high-ranking official of the City of Laurel. The Laurel Police are offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of person or persons involved. During the incident, a suspect received probable burn injuries and may seek medical attention.
