Mayor Craig A. Moe and Chief Richard McLaughlin want to inform the public that the Laurel Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, September 2, 2011 and Friday September 23, 2011.

Mayor Craig A. Moe and Chief Richard McLaughlin agree the way to reduce motor vehicle injuries and deaths is to remove drunk and impaired drivers from our streets. By conducting periodic sobriety checkpoints, it will raise the level of public awareness and inform citizens about the efforts that are being used to identify and apprehend impaired drivers.
The sobriety checkpoint will be operational between the hours of 10:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. at Northbound Route 1 and Main Street.
