At approximately 7:59am on September 14, 2011, the Laurel Police Department responded to a call of a shooting in the 14700 block of Shiloh Ct. in Laurel, MD. Officers found a female lying next to the parking lot. The female was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The investigation revealed the victim was shot while her 10 year-old child, who was not injured in the shooting, stood next to her.  The suspect fled the scene and a lookout was given to surrounding jurisdictions. Approximately 10 minutes later, the Prince George’s County Police received a call for a shooting in the 9100 block of Cherry Lane. The Prince George’s County Police found that the suspect in the Shiloh Ct. shooting had shot himself behind a nursing home. The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
The victim has been identified as 26 year-old Brandice Jones of Shiloh Ct. At this time, the Laurel and Prince George’s County Police, working jointly, are still investigating both incidents.
