At approximately 7:59am on September 14, 2011, the Laurel Police Department responded to a call of a shooting in the 14700 block of Shiloh Ct. in Laurel, MD. Officers found a female lying next to the parking lot. The female was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Approximately 10 minutes later, the Prince George’s County Police received a call for a shooting in the 9100 block of Cherry Lane. The Prince George’s County Police found that the suspect in the Shiloh Ct. shooting had shot himself behind a nursing home. The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

 

The victim has been identified as 26 year-old Brandice Jones of Shiloh Ct. The Prince George’s County Police have identified the suspect as 38 year-old Javan Terrance Abney of the 1500 block of Isherwood Place in Washington, DC. At this time, the Laurel and Prince George’s County Police, working jointly, are still investigating both incidents.
