Mayor Craig A. Moe is pleased to announce that the City will hold its sixth Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding Event on Saturday, October 15th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Public Works Facility, 305-307 First Street. This event is for City residents only. Participants will be required to show proof of City residency.
The Department of Public Works will be on-hand to assist City residents in recycling their unwanted electronics. Recyclable items include: computer monitors and CPUs, CD/DVD/VCR players, radios, printers, keyboards, televisions, etc. The electronics recycling event is a joint-effort between the City and Unicor Recycling Business Group.
Revere Bank is sponsoring the paper shredding event. Office Shredding, a document destruction company, will also be available to City residents at the Public Works Facility. Residents are encouraged to bring any and all sensitive material to the event for shredding. Only paper products can be accepted for shredding, but the City will have their recycling truck on-hand for cardboard boxes and other recyclable containers.
Both of these events are free for City residents.
Access to this event will be from the Public Works First Street entrance. Please visit the Public Works page of the City’s web site, www.laurel.md.us, to check the map for this event. Residents can obtain more information about the event and the City’s curb-side recycling program at www.laurel.md.us/content/public-works or by calling the Department of Public Works at 301-725-0088.
