Columbus Day Holiday.  City offices will be closed Monday, October 10th.  Monday’s refuse and recycling will be collected on Tuesday, October 11th and Tuesday’s refuse and recycling will be collected on Wednesday, October 12th. 

Yard Debris Collections!  There is no special collection the week of October 10th. To schedule a collection, call in (or e-mail) before the end of the day Monday for a Wednesday collection.  To reach us by phone call (301) 725-0088 or e-mail us at ([email protected]).

Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding Event.  The date for the City’s sixth electronics recycling event is Saturday, October 15th (8:00 a.m. to noon) at the Public Works Facility (305-307 First Street).  City residents are encouraged to recycle their unwanted electronics (computer monitors, CPUs, CD/DVD/VCR players, radios, printers, keyboard, televisions, etc.). A map showing the route is available for viewing (Recycling Event Map).  Residents will be required to show proof of City residency.   Residents will also be able to securely shred any sensitive paper material (canceled checks, bank statements, bills, etc.).  The paper shredding event is sponsored by Revere Bank who will be on hand to help residents.  A map showing the route is available for viewing (Recycling Event Map).  Residents will be required to show proof of City residency.   

Leaf Collection: Beginning in October, the City provides weekly leaf vacuum services.  The leaf vacuum will continue through the end of November.  Please refer to the Leaf Collection Map in the 2011 Public Works Calendar to determine your day and refer to the City’s web site for information on how to prepare for leaf vacuum.
