Mayor Craig A. Moe is pleased to announce the City of Laurel’s top Volunteer for 2011, with a total of 196 hours donated to assist the City of Laurel’s staff in making our City a better place to live, work and play, is Cinnamen Fisher.

Cinnamen Fisher volunteered in the City Administrator’s Office in many capacities. Her invaluable time volunteering with the City was recognized as she is now a valued employee of that department. Her name will be added to the “Volunteer of the Year” plaque that proudly hangs at City Hall.

As Mayor, I know the critical importance of our volunteers and the time and effort they commit to our citizens is appreciated. The various volunteer groups that help serve the citizens of Laurel in many capacities totaled 4,092 in the calendar year ending 12/31/11. Each one of our volunteers contributes in some way to the betterment of all of our lives and the City’s Staff appreciates their assistance.

If you have a few hours a month to spend and wish to join our group of volunteers, go to the City of Laurel’s web site at www.laurel.md.us under “Volunteer” and find a group that will fit your interests and abilities or call 301-725-5300 Ext. 2109.

Thank you again to Cinnamen Fisher for her efforts to the citizens of Laurel.  Good job!
