Mayor Craig A. Moe and Emergency Operations Director, Martin Flemion, would like the residents of Laurel to know that the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Metro area that will go into effect at 3:00pm today, Friday, February 24, 2012.

The wind advisory means that winds could gust over 45 mph and that the high winds could make driving difficult, especially for the high profile vehicles like tractor trailers and box trucks. Drivers are asked to use extra caution. Residents are also asked to bring in any loose items they may have around their homes to help minimize possible damage. The advisory will be in effect until 12:00am Saturday, February 25, 2012.
