Mayor Craig A. Moe and Chief Richard McLaughlin have announced that the Laurel Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 11:00pm to 3:00am in the 800 block of Talbott Avenue.

Mayor Moe and Chief McLaughlin agree the way to reduce motor vehicle injuries and deaths is to remove drunk and impaired drivers from our streets. By conducting periodic sobriety checkpoints, it will raise the level of public awareness and inform citizens about the efforts that are being used to identify and apprehend impaired drivers.
