Mayor Craig A. Moe is pleased to announce that the City will hold its semi-annual Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding Event on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Public Works Facility, 305-307 First Street.  This event is for City residents and local businesses only.  Residents will be required to show proof of City residency and businesses must be able to confirm their City location.  Residents and businesses are encouraged to contact the Department of Public Works at 301-725-0088, to confirm they have a City address.

The Department of Public Works will be on-hand to assist City residents in recycling their unwanted electronics.  Recyclable items include:  computer monitors and CPUs, CD/DVD/VCR players, radios, printers, keyboards, televisions, etc.  The electronics recycling event is a joint-effort between the City and Unicor Recycling Business Group. 

Revere Bank is sponsoring the paper shredding event.  Office Shredding, a document destruction company will also be available to City residents at the Public Works Facility.  Residents are encouraged to bring any and all sensitive material to the event for shredding. Only paper products can be accepted for shredding, but the City will have their recycling truck on-hand for cardboard boxes and other recyclable containers. 

Both events are free for City residents and City businesses.
