Mayor Craig A. Moe announced that the local Emergency Declaration that was put into effect on Friday, October 26, has been lifted effective Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 5:00pm.
Mayor Moe declared a local State of Emergency for the City of Laurel due to the projected impacts of Hurricane Sandy. Since President Obama also declared a State of Emergency for the State of Maryland, the City will be eligible to apply for reimbursement for emergency preparation and response.
Mayor Moe is pleased with how the City and the Laurel Community came together in preparation for Hurricane Sandy and thanks everyone for their assistance and cooperation during the storm.
