Mayor Craig A. Moe has signed an Executive Order 2013-01, a declaration of an immediate Municipal Civil Emergency due to the impending threat of flooding due to the release of water from the T. Howard Duckett Dam.

Projected releases from the Duckett Dam on the Patuxent River have increased and flooding will occur along the Patuxent River from I-95 near Laurel downstream. The City of Laurel has opened their Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in response to this situation. After meetings with Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, the City of Laurel EOC has recommended evacuations to all residential and business properties from Main Street North to the Patuxent River. The City of Laurel has opened Robert J. DiPietro as an evacuation center in response to this situation.

The City will issue updates as warranted, which may be found on its website, Facebook, and Twitter or you can call 301-725-5300.
