Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced that City Offices will be closed on Monday, February 18, 2013 in observance of Presidents’ Day.

Mayor Moe is reminding everyone that City Code does not allow refuse or recycling to be placed out to the curb for collection until after 7:30pm the night before the scheduled collection.   To do so earlier is a violation of City Code and subject to citation. The City asks that you please make sure your refuse and recyclables are secured from blowing away in high wind situations. City Code also states that all refuse and recycling containers be returned to either your garage or placed in the rear of your home before 7:30pm on the day of pick up.

Monday’s refuse and recycling will be collected on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 and Tuesday’s refuse and recycling will be collected on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.  There is no change to the refuse or recycling collection schedule for Wednesday.

There will be no Residential Special Pickup or Yard Debris collection the week of February 18, 2013.  Our next collection date will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.  You can schedule a Residential Special Pickup and Yard Debris Pickup by either e-mailing [email protected] or calling the Department of Public Works at 301-725-0088.

Thank you for your cooperation and we wish you a safe and happy Presidents’ Day.
