Mayor Craig A. Moe and the Director of Emergency Services, Marty Flemion, are pleased to announce that the City of Laurel, in conjunction with the Prince George’s County Office of Homeland Security, will hold an intensive Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Class June 1 and June 2, 2013. Classes will begin at 8:00am each day at the Laurel Municipal Center located at 8103 Sandy Spring Rd., Laurel, MD 20707.

The CERT program provides special training that enhances the ability of residents to prepare for, mitigate against, respond to, and recover from a major emergency or disaster situation. The program prepares citizens to help themselves, their families, and their neighbors in the event of an emergency. 

The CERT Class will be limited to 25 participants on a first come, first serve basis. If you would like more information on the class or to register for the weekend class, please call Carreen Koubek at 301-725-5300 ext. 2109.
