Start your weekend off with a live concert in the park! Laurel Department of Parks and Recreation will host two Friday Concerts in the Park at Granville Gude Park and Lakehouse from 7:00-9:00pm. Bring a blanket, picnic or relaxing chair and enjoy this free entertainment for the whole family. With various bands and genres, come enjoy your favorite music or experience something new!
Join us Friday, July 19, 2013 for the sounds of The New Romanos. No group in the Baltimore/Washington area has more experience in energizing a celebration than The New Romanos. Established more than 50 years ago, the band has built a reputation for mixing the songs you grew up dancing to with today's hits.
Then, on Friday, August 2, 2013, for the sounds of DC Transit Band. The DC Transit Band is 10 piece band featuring the solid vocals of Lindsay Diles and Joshua Alfred embellished by a four piece horn section and anchored in a veteran rhythm section. They have trumpet, trombone, sax, bari sax, guitars, keyboards, bass and drums. All of their horn players have music degrees from prestigious colleges. Everyone will have a great time dancing or just listening to songs from the past and present. Something old, something new, a little Motown, a little soul, a little country, and little rock, jazz, swing, and R&B. They play a little of everything and they play everything well.
