Regularly scheduled meetings of the Mayor and City Council are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6:00 P.M.

•  The regular meeting held on the second Monday of each month shall be virtual.

•  The regular meeting held on the fourth Monday of each month shall be held in- person.

Regularly scheduled Mayor and City Council Work Sessions are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 P.M.

•  When the agenda is five (5) or less items of discussion, the Work Session will be virtual.       

•  When the agenda is six (6) or more items of discussion, the Work Session will be in-person.

Occasionally, a holiday will cause the meeting schedule to change. Contact the Clerk to the City Council to verify meeting dates or access the on-line Agenda. The public is encouraged to attend these meetings; we work for you and need your input.

When in-person Mayor and City Council meetings are held they will be in the Council Chambers at the Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, MD 20707.

If you plan on making a presentation using a flash drive at a Mayor and Council meeting, please contact the Clerk to the Council before the meeting.

Clerk to the City Council

It is the responsibility of the Clerk to the City Council to provide assistance to the City Council and to maintain and preserve all required legislation in accordance with State, County and City Codes. The Clerk's Office provides administrative and reporting coverage of all meetings of the Mayor and City Council and various Boards and Commissions. The Clerk serves as the Archivist of the City and is the City's Public Information Act Representative.  Any one desiring information or a copy of adopted or proposed legislation should contact the Clerk's Office by phone or email as listed above.
