MEETING MINUTES

MARCH 8, 2023

ZOOM MEETING

 

 

            The meeting convened at 6:05 pm via Zoom. The following members were in attendance: Councilman James Kole, Chair, Ms. Amy Dunham, Ms. Michelle Keating, Ms. Sara A. Green, CMC, City Clerk was also present. There was three (3) members of the public in attendance.

            Chairman Kole welcomed the volunteer members of the public who were in attendance and thanked them for their interest in helping with Pride Day: Pastor Leann Hodges, Oaklands Presbyterian Church, Taylor Lewis, and Shawnna Alexander.

            The minutes of the February 8, 2023, meeting were held for a vote until a future meeting due to the lack of a quorum.

            Ms. Amy Dunham reported that there were twelve (12) vendors (mostly returning from last year) already signed up for the event. Daydream Sunshine would also be a vendor and provide HIV testing. A brief discussion ensued regarding online vendor application payments.

            Ms. Dunham also reported that she’d spoke with the GSA at Laurel High School and the kids wanted to volunteer and maybe they would help with social media content.

            Chairman Kole reported that the Merchandise Committee did not have an update to report. Chairman Kole also reported that Councilmembers cannot solicit financial donations on behalf of the Committee due to ethics conflicts. Ms. Keating agreed to work on sponsorship recruitment.

            Chairman Kole also noted that the Commander of American Legion Post 60 had the request to have Drag Bingo at the American Legion as a fundraising event on the Legion’s agenda for March 9, 2023, so he expected to find out what their decision was soon after that. The audio vendor was to provide an estimate to Chairman Kole by March 9, 2023, and he would report out about that at the next meeting.

            Pastor Hodges said that she would serve as interfaith liaison for the Committee and that a parishioner Keirsten Anderson had volunteered her services as a graphic artist to the Committee. Oaklands Presbyterian Church’s Office Manager, Jessi Littlejohn would help with social media content as well.

         

            The Committee agreed that the next meeting would be April 12, 2023, at 6:00 pm via Zoom.

            The meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:41 pm.
