  1. Approval of the Minutes for the Regular HDC meeting held on October 12, 2021.

 

  1. HDC-033-2022 for 25 Post Office Avenue submitted by Richard Wang, the applicant is seeking approval to replace gray 3 tab shingles to gray architectural shingles, replace white cement siding with white vinyl siding, replace 3’’ white gutters/downspouts with 4’’ white gutters/downspouts, replace front and side yard white solid board picket fence with white gothic style picket fence, replace green steel front door with dark green smooth fiberglass 6 panel front door, paint brick on front porch smokey pewter gray and replace current wooden windows with vinyl 6 over 6 grids.

 

  1. HDC-025-2022 for 616 Prince George Street submitted by Karim Whalen, the applicant is proposing to remove and replace the existing second floor metallic roof with asphalt shingles. In addition, the applicant is also proposing to remove and replace the existing roofs on the front and side porch (see attachment).  The Applicant is proposing to replace the existing roofs on the front and side porch with the same color and shingles that exist.  The proposed roof color for the front and side porch is Covington Blue.

HDC-026-2022 for 360 Main Street submitted by Wayne Belsinger (on behalf of the owner), Applicant is refacing existing signage: Front of Building – Wall sign: Size: 38 square feet, Color: White (Lettering), Material: Remove stainless steel letters, clean and reinstall, Message: “Propane……H.J. Poist…..Est. 1938” AND Front of Building – Hanging Sign: Size: 64 square feet, Color(s): Red (arrow), White (lettering), & Blue (background with the lettering attached), Material: Paint & Replace Metal Faces to match original color, Message: Phone Number + “Propane…..Poist Gas Co” + Red Arrow.
  2. HDC-028-2022 for 400 Main Street submitted by Margie McCeney, the applicant is proposing approval to remove two (2) cedar trees along Fourth Street at both ends of the row. The existing trees do not seem to be dead or diseased. The applicant states that the existing trees have outgrown the space due to overcrowding. No new trees are proposed to be replacing the trees intended to be removed, with the applicant stating that there is not enough room. Staff recommends that the applicant replace the trees with additional shrubbery of some kind.
  3. HDC-029-2022 for 914 Montgomery Street submitted by Julie Dakes, Applicant is seeking retroactive approval to perform several exterior alterations to the property.  The Applicant received a stop work order. Applicant is removing and replacing the stone and concrete stairs and walkway because they have become unsafe to step and walk on.

 

  1. HDC-030-2022 for 509 Montgomery Street submitted by Cameron Manesh, requesting approval to replace an existing six-foot tall wooden fence. The applicant states that the existing fence is broken and proposes to replace the fence with a new, gray- colored vinyl fence of the same height.  The location of the replacement fence will be on the left side of the property in front of Montgomery Street and will run to the alley at the back of the lot.

 

  1. HDC-031-2022 for 319 Laurel Avenue submitted by Benjamin Lewis, Applicant is seeking approval to install two (2) types of fences on the property.  Applicant will be installing a new fence along the back of the house and rear of the property.   Applicant will be installing a paddock style fence along the back of house and a French gothic picket fence in the rear of the property (see attachment).  Both fences will be made of wood material and height (4’0”).

 

  1. HDC-032-2022 for 325 Montgomery Street submitted by Gary Horton (for owner), Applicant is seeking approval to replace the existing roof. Applicant states the current roof is leaking and is in need of replacement. The proposed roof will change from its existing 3- Tab style to architectural shingle style. Furthermore, the proposed roof will change its from its existing light gray color to an Atlas High Performance Pristine Black color.

 

  1. A tax credit request for 310 Fourth Street, submitted by Cheryl & Michael Dyer, for approved HDC Certificate of Approvals: HDC-065-2021, replacement of (2) two chimneys. The total cost was $5,454.00 and the requested amount is $545.40.

 

  1. A tax credit request for 412 Montgomery Street, submitted by Elizabeth Welsh, for approved HDC Certificate of Approvals: HDC-008-2021, for replacing the front porch boards/shingles and gutter/downspouts. The total cost was $4,192.88 and the requested amount is $419.29.

 

Staff Approvals

 

HDC-021-2022 for 403 Prince George Street submitted by Luis Sibaja, requesting to repaint front porch and house foundation from a light gray color to a darker color gray, close to the Templeton Gray color in pre-approved color list.

 

HDC-022-2022 for 221 Ninth Street submitted by Darcy Flynn, the applicant requesting to repaint siding in white and repair roofing on the black metal porch and top flat shingles. Wall work in kind.

 

HDC-029-2022 for 25 Post Office Avenue submitted by Richard Wang, requesting to remove (1) dead tree from rear property. Will replant new tree.

 

HDC-033-2022 for 221 Ninth Street submitted by Darcy Flynn, the applicant requesting to repaint the cement border touching the sidewalk and front yard the same basic white color that has faded over time. All work in kind.

 

HDC-034-2022 for 47 A Street submitted by Lynne Plante (for owner), the applicant requesting to install new roofing with 3-tab charcoal shingles. Original roof was damaged in a fire and was also gray 3-tab style. This was considered an emergency repair.

 

HDC-033-2022 for 419 Prince George Street submitted by Cherilyn Hostetler, the applicant requesting to install new gutters. Request to replace 5-inch K style white gutters with 6-inch K style white gutters. Work was done without approval.

 

HDC-038-2022 for 200 Sixth Street submitted by Melissa Miranda/Sky Contractor LLC (for owner), the applicant requesting to install new roofing with 3-tab charcoal shingles. Original roof was also gray 3-tab style. A stop work order was issued; however, rain was coming, and the old shingles were already removed from the home. This was considered an emergency repair.
