CITY OF LAUREL BOARD OF APPEALS

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 – REGULAR

The minutes of the March 25, 2021 meeting were approved as written on motion by Mrs. Collins and seconded by Mr. Whitley, carried on a roll call vote of all other members present.

 

Next, the Board heard the request for Special Exception Application No. 916 and Resolution No. 21-06-BOA, 14707 Baltimore Avenue Laurel, Maryland 20707, filed by Red Crab House LLC.  Mr. Bourrough completed the reading of the record for the administrative approval process and presented the technical staff report dated June 30 2021.  The applicant is seeking approval to add Live Entertainment and Dancing to the existing restaurant.  The Red Crab House would like to provide family entertainment for all ages.  The restaurant proposes to provide Live Entertainment once a week, Wednesday nights 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  The Live Entertainment will include DJ’s and bands playing family-friendly music.  The remaining nights of the week, management reserve the right and option to decide if Live Entertainment will take place on that day. 

 

The applicant’s attorney, Ms. Linda Kerr, Carter Law, 11720 Beltsville Drive Ste. 100 Beltsville, Maryland  20705, stated her client has agreed to all the conditions listed in the staff report.

 

Chairwoman Leszcz opened the public hearing at 6:08 p.m.

On motion by Mrs. Collins seconded by Mr. Whitley, and carried on a unanimous vote by all members present, Special Exception Application No. 916 and Resolution No. 21-06-BOA were approved as presented in the Technical Staff Report.
