The meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. with Chairman Nicholas presiding. Roll was called with Chairman Nicholas presiding. Roll was called with Valerie M.A. Nicholas, Chairman; Brent Debnam; Mike McLaughlin, Erin McLaughlin, and Kim Rau present.

On motion by Mr. McLaughlin, seconded by Mr. Debnam, the Minutes from CAC for Persons with Disabilities Meeting on April 8, 2021.

Mike and Erin McLaughlin attended the Ethan Saylor Alliance Meeting on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, 10:00 a.m. Mike told the committee that he and Erin were involved under Governor O'Malley, from which many reforms came, including mandated training for law enforcement on interaction with people with disabilities.

Loyola is train self-advocates. When complete, they will be paid $15.00 hour to role play in training videos. Not just for law enforcement, but across all professions.

Verizon Foundation — Change Maker - working to address barriers to digital inclusion.

First Responders want it available on-line

Employment opportunities big take away for Mike

Special Olympics — want to expend beyond sports to also involve self-advocate and educators

Brent and Mike will both follow-up on this

Committee members viewed the CAC for Disabilities Website, she imposed a deadline on committee members for next Wednesday, April 26, 2021, to submit missing information for the website.

The next CAC for Persons with Disabilities Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 6, 6:00 p.m.

Erin McLaughlin closed the meeting with telling the committee about her back flip and looking fabulous.


There being no further business to come before the committee the meeting was adjourned at 6:28 p.m.
