A. Bid Recommendation- Department of Information Technology- Fiber Construction- 204 Ft. Meade Road

 

Kevin Frost, Chief Information Officer, presented the recommendation to award a contract for fiber construction at 204 Fort Mead Road, as outlined in a memorandum dated March 17, 2021. In an effort to establish a City of Laurel network presence at 204 Fort Meade Road a telecommunications fiber construction project has been created. The project will extend fiber out of the Department of Public Works to 204 Fort Meade Road. Once construction is completed, IT will establish an intrusion alarm presence with cameras and install a preliminary phone system. Cost of the project is $179,147.97. Funding is available in the FY2021 CIP - Information Technology Project. The contract is under the State of Maryland Consulting and Technical Services Contract. The vendor is Eastcomm Lt., of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Councilmembers agreed to award the contract at the regular Mayor and City Council Meeting at 6:00 p.m.

There being no further business to come before the Mayor and City Council, the meeting was adjourned at 5:51 p.m.
