  1. Roll Call.
  2. Approval of the Minutes for the Regular HDC meeting held on December 8, 2020.

3. HDC-040-2021 for 701 Main Street, submitted by Chester Higdon, requesting retroactive approval for the installation of a light brown with dark-brown trim wooden fence with a gate located in the front of the property.  The fence is located on an empty lot located on the corner of 701 Main Street.  The fence is currently 5’ 4” to 6’ along the front of the property.  The Applicant has been notified and agreed by email to cut the fence to appropriate height of 42”, per the City of Laurel Land Code.  Applicant was notified and agreed to cut a 1/8” gap in between each board, per the City of Laurel Land Code, a solid flat-board on board fencing of any height is not permitted in the front yard.

4. HDC-036-2021 for 342 Laurel Avenue, submitted by Jeffery Pohren, seeking retroactive approval to paint the gutters, window trim, and front porch columns.  Applicant has painted the window trim, front porch columns, and gutters Deep Breathe Blue (dark blue) from its original color of white. Applicant is also seeking retroactive approval to demolish the existing garage and remove existing fence. The existing garage was approximately 16.3’ X 27.4’ or 444.1 square feet.  The existing fence was 6’ in height and 24’ long.

5. HDC-041-2021 for 412 Prince George Street, submitted by Gemma Kuijpersg, seeking retroactive approval to perform a number of exterior renovations to the garage. Applicant proposes the repair of a crack in the garage’s wall, as well as a replacement of the existing white metal doors with custom wood doors (painted white with gray bordering) and the installation of a small ramp in front of the doors. The size of the new wood doors is unchanged from the previous metal doors.

 

Staff Approvals:

HDC-038-2021 for 617 Main Street, submitted by Sheryl T. McLean, request to install new sign for McLean and Tircuit Interior Design and Architectural Details, will be the same size and color scheme as other existing signs at Patuxent Place.

HDC-042-2021 for 412 Prince George Street, submitted by Gemma Kuijpersg, request to repaint house with “in-kind” color blue sapphire, and repair front porch with in-kind material color and style (wood, white and gray).
