2. Legislation

A. President Smalls read the title of Resolution No. 9-19, a resolution accepting the results of the General Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, into the record for the first reading. The public hearing was opened at 7:04 p.m.

Board of Election Supervisors Chairman John Kish presented the final election results from the City of Laurel General Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2019:

Mayor Craig A. Moe

Councilmember, At-Large, Valerie M.A. Nicholas

Councilmember, Ward 1, Carl DeWalt

Councilmember, Ward 1, Michael R. Leszcz

Councilmember, Ward 2, Brencis Smith

Councilmember, Ward 2, Keith R. Sydnor

A summary of the election results is attached to the minutes. Mr. Kish thanked the Chief Judges Bill Wellford and Jacqueline Anderson and all the Election Day Judges for their assistance with the election.

President Smalls closed the public hearing at 7:04 p.m.

Council Rules were suspended on motion by Councilmember Leszcz, seconded by Councilmember Sydnor, RESOLUTION NO. 9-19, A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2019, was adopted on a unanimous roll call vote. Mayor Moe concurred with this action.

B. President Smalls read the title of Resolution No. 10-19, a resolution approving the compensation to the Board of Election Supervisors and the Election Judges, into the record for the first reading. The public hearing was opened at 7:06 p.m. and closed with no one present who wished to speak.
 

Council Rules were suspended on motion by Councilmember Leszcz seconded by Councilmember DeWalt, RESOLUTION NO. 10-19, A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COMPENSATION TO THE BOARD OF ELECTION SUPERVISORS AND THE ELECTION JUDGES, was adopted on a unanimous roll call vote. Mayor Moe concurred with this action.

There being no further business to come before the Mayor and City Council the meeting adjourned at 7:08 p.m.
