FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY FIRST MEETING

CITY OF LAUREL PLANNING COMMISSION

TUESDAY- DECEMBER 10, 2019

 

The meeting convened in the Council Chambers of the Laurel Municipal Center at 7:00 P.M., with Chairwoman Mitzi R. Betman presiding.  The roll was called with the Honorable Rick Wilson, John R. Kish, Ms. Krystiana Bonheur and Council President Sydnor present. Also, present were Ms. Christian L. Pulley, Director of Economic and Community Development, Mr. Robert Love, Deputy Director and Ms. Brooke Quillen, Secretary to the Commission. There were approximately (2) two members of the public in attendance.

 

Chairwoman Betman welcomed Council President Keith Sydnor to the Planning Commission. Mr. Sydnor stated he is excited and honored to be a part of this Commission. He added that this Commission is one of the most important for the City, from a planning and zoning aspect. He thanked the Commission and staff for all their hard work.

 

The minutes of the November 19, 2019 meeting were approved as written, on motion by Mr. Kish, seconded by Ms. Bonheur, and carried on a roll call vote of all members present as written.

 

The next agenda item was for Final Record Plat Application filed by Strittmatter Contee, LLC., Laurel Overlook, 7041 and 7051 Contee Road Laurel, Maryland  20707.  Mr. Love stated the applicant is seeking Final Record Plat of Subdivision approval to create parcels for the development of 180 residential townhouse lots, an athletic field, and open space areas on the property to be known as Laurel Overlook (Formally Flester). The subject property consists of 32.7 acres of land and is zoned Townhouse (R-T) and One Family Detached (R-5). The property is located at 7041 & 7051 Contee Rd., Laurel, MD 20707.

 

Chairwoman Betman opened the public hearing at 7:05 p.m.

 

Chairwoman Betman stated the applicant was in attendance to answer any questions. There was nobody signed up to speak.

 

Chairwoman Betman closed the public hearing 7:05 p.m.

 

The Commission, on motion by Mr. Wilson, seconded by Mr. Kish, and carried on a roll call vote of all members present, voted to approve the Final Record Plat Application and Resolution No. 19-14-PC for 7041 and 7051 Contee Road Laurel, Maryland 20707 as presented in the Technical Staff Report.

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
