A. FY2020 Proposed General Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program.

Michele Saylor, Director of Budget and Personnel Services; Christian Pulley, Director of Economic and Community Development; Audrey Barnes, Director of Communications; Rob Ferree, Director of Public Works; Dave Cope, Fire Marshal; Keven Gray, Deputy Chief and Kimberley A. Rau, MMC, Clerk. There were no members of the public present.

Ordinance No. 1943, an ordinance adopting the General Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program of the Mayor and City Council of Laurel, Maryland, for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020, and to levy property taxes; and to authorize the collection of such taxes. 


Budget presentations continued as follows:

Department of Parks and Recreation, Joanne Barr, Director

Public Safety, Laurel Police Department, Deputy Chief Keven Gray

Office of the Fire Marshal & Permit Services, Dave Cope, Fire Marshal

Office of Emergency Management, Steve Allen, Emergency Manager

Office of the City Administrator, Lou Ann Crook, Deputy City Administrator 

At the conclusion of the budget presentations, Deputy City Administrator Crook asked that any follow-up questions be forwarded to her office through the Clerk.  

President Smalls stated "The Budget Ordinance will be introduced then the first public introduction followed by the first public hearing at the Mayor and City Council meeting on Monday, May 13, 2019, 6:00 p.m.".

There being no further items for discussion the meeting adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
