CITY OF LAUREL BOARD OF APPEALS

THURSDAY, JANUARY 24, 2019 – REGULAR

The minutes of the November 1, 2018 meeting were approved as written on motion by Mrs. Collins, seconded by Mrs. Leszcz, and carried on a roll call vote of all other members present.

                                              

The minutes of the December 20, 2018 meeting were tabled, there were not enough to carry out the vote of approval since (1) one member abstained from not being at that meeting.

 

Next, the Board heard the request for Special Exception Application No. 890 and Resolution No. 18-05-BOA, 118 Washington Boulevard Laurel, Maryland 20707, filed by SH Realty Holdings LLC- 515 N. Flagler Drive West Palm Beach, Florida 33401. The Applicant is seeking special exception approval to operate a Medical Cannabis Dispensary to be located at 118 Washington Blvd.  The property is zoned Commercial General (CG).  The current use of the property is the Tastee Diner restaurant and TD Lounge bar.  Surrounding the property to the North is an office/retail space being constructed, to the South is Dingle Printing Service and a motel, to the West is the Laurel Tavern Donuts restaurant, and to the East is Animal Crackers Pet Boutique and Salon.  The property was built in 1952.

 

The applicant’s attorney, Mr. Richard Reed, Lerch, Early & Brewer, 7600 Wisconsin Avenue Suite 700, Bethesda, Maryland  20814, requested to the Board of Appeals to withdraw the application for Special Exception No. 890 for 118 Washington Boulevard.

 

There were no public or staff comments.
