1.           Roll Call.

2.         Approval of the Minutes for the Regular HDC meeting held on June 19, 2018.

3.         HDC 077-2018 for 20 Post Office Avenue, submitted by Marcelo De Campos, requesting approval for replacement siding on house with new vinyl dutch lap style in dark winter sky blue color, replace metal roof with charcoal color asphalt shingles, install all new windows with six over six grid vinyl. Current windows are a mix of six over six or one over one, replace front door after moving the door location, door will have window panels, construct new front porch with railing and porch lights.

4.         HDC 085-2018 for 407 Main Street, submitted by Tracie Claxton, requesting to install the following signage on Allstate Insurance building front: A awning in mediterranean blue with white letters to read “Allstate (with logo)” on sunbrella fabric, an aluminum plaque with painted background to read “Allstate Insurance Trusted Insurance Agency, LLC. (with phone number)”, vinyl graphics on window in white and blue to read Allstate with logo and phone number.

5.         HDC 086-2018 for 505 Montgomery Street, submitted by Stephen Clement, requesting to remove two ornamental evergreen trees on front of property. One is pushing out on the retaining wall in front of property near front steps.  The other tree is not growing properly (is twisted). The applicant is not planning to replace them.

6.         HDC 087-2018 for 616 Prince George Street, submitted by Donna Makowelski, requesting to install fencing with (2) gates to the following: from alley on 7th Street 4' Picket 76', across back along alley 60', from alley into yard 50', from back corner of house to fence on 7th Street 18', from kitchen porch to property line 18', 6' picket on to our property line 136’.

7.         HDC 088-2018 for 204 Main Street, submitted by Scott Kleinknecht, requesting to paint brick with alexandria beige color, replace awning fabric color from burgundy to black with same white lettering "204", install a 2` x 10` sign on front of building to read: PROTOCALL Communications.

8.         HDC 089-2018 for 653 Main Street, submitted by Danelcy Guzman, requesting to install a 24’’ x 36’’ sign to front of building to read “La Glam Studios One Stop Shop” in black, white and brown color.

Staff Approvals:

HDC 083-2018 for 811 Main Street, submitted by Niall Sheehan, request to repair the front walk (from house to the sidewalk) with “in kind” paving cement.

Chairman Hayes called the meeting to order at 7:02, read the Opening Statement and asked for a roll call. Four (4) commissioners answered present, constituting a quorum.

 

 Chairman Hayes asked if there were corrections or comments regarding the Minutes from the Regular HDC meeting held on June 19, 2018. There were no corrections noted.  

On a motion by Ms. McCeney, seconded by Ms. Rambow, the Minutes were approved, on four(4) affirmative votes.

The applicant was present. There was discussion between the Commission and the applicant; the applicant stated a licensed contractor would be doing the work.

On a motion by Ms. McCeney, seconded by Ms. Rambow, the certificate was approved on a unanimous vote.

The applicant was not present, however, there was a representative there from the sign company. He stated there was a miscommunication between the Sign Company and Allstate on who was getting the approvals.

On a motion by Ms. Frazier, seconded by Ms. Rambow with Ms. McCeney voting “No” and Chairman Hayes “Yes”, the application was approved on three (3) affirmative votes.

 

HDC 086-2018 for 505 Montgomery Street, submitted by Stephen Clement, requesting to remove two ornamental evergreen trees on front of property. The applicant was not present. The Commission decided to table the item until the applicant can attend the meeting.

On a motion by Ms. McCeney, seconded by Ms. Rambow, the certificate was tabled on a unanimous vote.

The applicant was present, there were no questions.

On a motion by Ms. McCeney, seconded by Ms. Frazier, the certificate was approved on a unanimous vote.

The applicant was present and stated he was repairing the building and had forgot he need HDC approval.

On a motion by Ms. McCeney, seconded by Ms. Frazier, the certificate was approved on a unanimous vote.

 

HDC 089-2018 for 653 Main Street, submitted by Danelcy Guzman, requesting to install a 24’’ x 36’’ sign to front of building to read “La Glam Studios One Stop Shop” in black, white and brown color.

The applicant was present and stated she had been in contact with the property manager who requested her to change her lettering style and colors to maroon and cream to match the other signage on the building that will be getting replaced.

On a motion by Ms. McCeney, seconded by Ms. Frazier, the certificate was approved on a unanimous vote, the new lettering style along with the colors of maroon and cream.

 

Chairman Hayes asked if there were any comments or questions regarding staff approvals and there were none.

 

Chairman Hayes asked to discuss New Business and there was none.
