  1. Resolution No. 9-17, a resolution of the Mayor and City Council of Laurel approving an Annexation Agreement with Strittmatter Contee, LLC, for the annexation of 32.68+/- acres of land known as 7041 and 7051 Contee Road, Laurel, MD, into the Corporate limits of the City of Laurel, and authorizing the Mayor to sign the agreement.
  2. Bid Recommendation – LA17-02 Citywide Concrete Repairs.
  3. Bid Recommendation – LA17-03 Citywide Street Improvements.
  4. Ordinance No. 1914, an ordinance adopting the Operating Budget of the Mayor and City Council of Laurel, Maryland, for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 and to levy property taxes; and to authorize the collection of such taxes; and approving the Capital Improvements Program for Fiscal Year 2018 – 2023.

Rau, Clerk; Kevin Frost, Director of Information Technology; Rob Ferree, Director of Public Works; Dave Cope, Fire Marshall; Christian Pulley, Acting Director of Economic and Community Development; Tim Van DerVossen, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation; Steve Allen, Emergency Manager; Pat Haag, Risk Management Officer; Lena Grant, Administrative Assistant; Karen Ruff, City Attorney. There were two members of the public present.

 

 

Christian Pulley presented Resolution No. 9-17, a resolution of the Mayor and City Council of Laurel approving an Annexation Agreement with Strittmatter Contee, LLC, for the annexation of 32.68+/- acres of land known as 7041 and 7051 Contee Road, Laurel, MD, into the corporate limits of the City of Laurel, and authorizing the Mayor to sign the agreement. Properties are contiguous to the City.  Straight forward annexation agreement.  Approval by the end of July.  Council was in agreement with moving forward with introduction and first public hearing at the Mayor and City Council Meeting on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

 

Rob Ferree, Director of Public Works presented the bid recommendation – LA17-02 Citywide Concrete Repairs as presented in a memorandum dated April 13, 2017.  Awarded at the Mayor and City Council Meeting on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

 

Rob Ferree, Director of Public Works presented the bid recommendation – LA17-03 Citywide Street Improvements as outlined in a memorandum dated April 14, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.  Councilmembers were in agreement to award at the Mayor and City Council Meeting on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

Michele Saylor, Director of Budget and Personnel Services presented Ordinance No. 1914, an ordinance adopting the Operating Budget of the Mayor and City Council of Laurel, Maryland, for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 and to levy property taxes; and to authorize the collection of such taxes; and approving the Capital Improvements Program for Fiscal Year 2018 – 2023.  Introduction and first public hearing at the Mayor and City Council Meeting on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.
