The Laurel Police Department is putting together an excellent program for National Night Out and YOU’RE invited.

It’s taking place at Granville Gude Park, 8300 Mulberry Street, from 6 pm until 9pm on August 6th, with the Official Swearing in ceremony for our new Chief of Police, Russell Hamill, III at 7:00pm!

 And it’s all free!

National Night Out has been going on across the country since 1984. It’s a chance to raise awareness about the Police Officers and safety programs in your community.

Besides the Laurel Police Department, the following groups and organizations are participating:

* Laurel Volunteer Fire Department
* Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad Company 49
* Emergency Response Team
* Fire Marshal
* Laurel Citizens Police Academy Alumni

There will be ERT ( Emergency Response Team) Demonstrations, K-9 teams in action, games for the kids, and FOOD!
