The Holidays will be here before you know it and Mayor Craig A. Moe has announced that City and Passport Offices will be closed Monday, December 25, 2017, for Christmas and Monday, January 1, 2018, for New Year’s.
Residential recycling and refuse collections that occur on Mondays will have their collections picked up on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, for the Christmas holiday and Tuesday, January 2, 2018, for the New Year holiday. Recyclables and refuse normally collected on Tuesdays, will be collected on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 and January 3, 2018. There will be no change to Wednesdays’ collections.
Mayor Moe would also like the City’s Commercial customers to be aware that Monday’s commercial customers will be collected on both Tuesdays, December 26th and January 2nd, and there will be no change to Tuesdays’ commercial customers.
During both Holiday weeks, there will also be no residential special pickups or yard debris collection during both weeks. The next scheduled Residential Special Pickup and Yard Debris collection will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. You can schedule a Residential Special Pickup and Yard Debris Pickup by either e-mailing [email protected] or calling the Department of Public Works at 301-725-0088.
Once the holidays are over, get ready to recycle your Christmas trees, because Public Works will begin their Tree collections on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
Thank you for your cooperation and we wish you a safe and happy Holiday Season.
