SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The person in this position is responsible for individual, group and family counseling for youth up to 24 years, and their families. The Clinical Counselor is responsible for completing all documentation, notes and requirements as outlined by state, county and city regulations for operating a Youth Service Bureau. Work involves extensive interaction with other human services professionals, community and governmental agencies, schools and the general public. The ability to speak, read and write Spanish is preferred. Position requires ability to work a flexible schedule to include some evening and weekend hours. The Counselor will perform their duties under the direction of the Clinical Director.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Minimum of Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology or related field. MD state professional license (LCSW-C, LCMFT or LCPC). Graduate licenses will be considered. At least two years of clinical experience, with a background in Family Counseling. Counselor must be fluent in oral and written Spanish. Must possess a valid Real ID Maryland Class C Driver’s license, or a comparable license issued by the employee’s state of residence, and a proven safe driving record. Must possess, or be able to attain the following certification in the National Incident Command System (ICS) within six months of employment: ICS-100, ICS-700. Ability to operate a computer terminal or Personal Computer and tablets. The aptitude in the use of a typical word processing software such as Microsoft Suite. Able to learn and apply other office software and automated office procedures. Able produce work that meets departmental formatting requirements. EOE.
