SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversight of janitorial/custodial services and efficient building maintenance operations for various City office buildings and recreational facilities. Supervision and training of full-time custodial employees and the supervision of auxiliary employees that provide evening and weekend building coverage. Coordinate the scheduling of outside contractors as required to provide maintenance and repair services for City buildings.
Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED certificate and four years experience in facility maintenance or equipment maintenance activities, including two years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of technical school training and experience. Must possess ability to operate a computer and use typical office software and be able to learn & apply other automated procedures including electronic time clock software. Must be in good physical condition to perform manual tasks and have the ability to respond with tact to inquiries from the general public. Must possess good organizational skills, intrapersonal skills and be self-motivated to perform independently. Must have a valid Maryland Class C driver’s license and a proven safe driving record.
