Executive Assistant to the Mayor

Ms. Navarro began her career with the City of Laurel in 2012 as an Administrative Specialist in the Office of the Clerk to the City Council. Her dedication and performance led to her promotion to Administrative Assistant I in 2014. In 2018, she further advanced her career by being promoted to Senior Administrative Assistant and transitioning to the Office of the Mayor. In 2023, Mayor Moe appointed her as his Executive Assistant.

Throughout her tenure with the City, Ms. Navarro has achieved notable professional certifications, including the Certified Municipal Clerk designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in 2018 and the Master Municipal Clerk certification in 2022.

Ms. Navarro's dedication to public service extends beyond her roles, as she has actively served in various capacities. Over the course of 10+ years, she has held significant positions such as Secretary of the Homelessness Task Force, Clergy Advisory Council, and the Multiservice Board of Directors. Additionally, she is actively involved as a committee member of the Program for Public Information (PPI) and is a current member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. Ms. Navarro is also an esteemed member of the Maryland Municipal Clerks Association (MMCA), where she has served on the Outreach Committee and currently contributes as a member of the Booth Committee.

Recently, Ms. Navarro furthered her expertise through the completion of the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance offered by the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy.
