    The Mayor and City Council recognized Cinnamen Fisher at their April 23 meeting. Mrs. Fisher, now a City Employee in the City Administrator’s Office, donated 196 hours in 2011 assisting the Emergency Services Director with special projects. Mrs. Fisher’s name has been added to the “Volunteer of the Year” plaque that proudly hangs at City Hall.

                There is a General Election for the City of Laurel every two years on the first Tuesday in November of the odd-year. This means that the next City Election will be held next week on November 1, 2011.

Join us Sunday, September 25, 2011 at McCullough Field to find out if your dog takes home a blue ribbon! Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and fun events for everyone will start at noon.

  • Cops on Rooftops

    Say you wake up tomorrow morning and you have a hankering for a donut. Forget Krispy Kreme, forget Little Tavern. Not that they aren’t fine donuts, don’t get me wrong, but be sure to hit Dunkin Donuts. The Laurel Police will be on their rooftop this weekend raising money for Maryland Special Olympics. Beginning at 6am on August 20 and through the night into the day, August 21 at 1pm, Laurel’s finest will be on Dunkin Donuts rooftop accepting donations. The locale will be the Dunkin Donuts at 14903 Baltimore Avenue in Laurel, Maryland 20707.

Moe and the City Council passed Ordinance No. 1716, which requires that written notice be given to the City within five (5) calendar days of an order to docket, or a complaint to foreclose, a mortgage or deed of trust is filed on residential property located within the City limits.
