Do you have the best dog in Laurel?  Find out as the City of Laurel Department of Parks and Recreation hosts the 3^rd Annual Dog Show. Join us Sunday, September 25, 2011 at McCullough Field to find out if your dog takes home a blue ribbon! Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and fun events for everyone will start at noon.

Say you wake up tomorrow morning and you have a hankering for a donut. Forget Krispy Kreme, forget Little Tavern. Not that they aren’t fine donuts, don’t get me wrong, but be sure to hit Dunkin Donuts. The Laurel Police will be on their rooftop this weekend raising money for Maryland Special Olympics. Beginning at 6am on August 20 and through the night into the day, August 21 at 1pm, Laurel’s finest will be on Dunkin Donuts rooftop accepting donations. The locale will be the Dunkin Donuts at 14903 Baltimore Avenue in Laurel, Maryland 20707.

Then come on down to Sweitzer Park on Wednesday, June 22 from 6:30pm – 8pm for City Hall in the Park. Sweitzer Park is located on Sandy Spring Road, next to Brookmill Apartments. Mayor Craig A. Moe, members of the City Council, and Senior City Staff members will discuss issues facing your community and will be on hand to hear your concerns and suggestions on how to improve your community.

Would you like to know what’s happening in your City? Have some questions for your local Government? Then come on down to the Laurel Mill Dam Ruins on Wednesday, May 25 from 6:30 – 8pm. The City Hall in the Park location is across from the Laurel Pool at the dead end of Main Street. Mayor Moe and members of his Senior Staff will discuss issues facing your community and will be on hand to hear your concerns and suggestions on how to improve your community. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and listen to the short program on City events and happenings that will be provided.
