Citizen and Student of the Month For OCTOBER 2007!

Citizen of the Month

Nominee: Norma McKellip

Nominated by:

Norma McKellip is the kind of person that this award was made for. She makes a difference and in a big way. She took the initiative of getting the two entrance meeting signs for Scotchtown Hills designed and made. She places them and picks them up at the appropriate times.

On many occasions, her neighbors observe Norma collecting trash around the neighborhood, including other people's front yards and also the Carriage Hill neighborhood. Always voluntarily, without fanfare.

Enough can't be said about Norma's genuine concern for others. She always goes the extra mile. During the HOA discussions, she makes every attempt to be fair and considerate of every homeowner's circumstance before making a decision. She is sincere and consistent in her service to her neighbors and fellow citizens.

Congratulations and thank you Norma!

Student of the Month

Nominee: Darrell Colbert

Nominated by: Principal of Laurel Elementary

Darrell Colbert was nominated not by a friend, not by a member of his family, not by a teacher, but by the principal of Laurel Elementary School.

Darrell has started off the school year in dramatic fashion. He has taken it upon himself to live up to each and every expectation that his teachers have put forth. He completes every homework assignment and all monthly projects. Darrell has and continues to participate in class on a daily basis. He remains organized and prepared for the day’s work. Above all, he has shown his teachers that he comes to school prepared to learn and cooperate with 100% effort.
He goes out of his way at school to help others. Congratulations Darrell for being an outstanding student.
